Building Digital Identity for a Free Society

November 17th-19th
Park City Mountain Resort · Park City, UT

America’s Digital Identity Strategy Is Built Here.

Digital identity can reduce fraud, improve access to services, strengthen digital commerce, and give individuals greater control over how they prove who they are.

But getting digital identity right requires more than technology.

SEDI Summit brings together government leaders, policymakers, civil liberties advocates, industry, technologists, academics, and other stakeholders to advance solutions to the difficult policy questions surrounding digital identity.

Our goal is a digital identity approach that protects individual and constitutional rights, strengthens our constitutional republic, enables freer markets, and gives people greater freedom and control in the digital world.

What is State-Endorsed Digital Identity?

State-Endorsed Digital Identity, or SEDI, is an approach to digital identity grounded in individual liberty, constitutional principles, trust, and free markets.

SEDI seeks to enable individuals to securely prove who they are, or specific facts about themselves, without creating surveillance, centralized control, or dependence on a particular technology or intermediary.

SEDI starts with a simple premise:

Decide what digital identity should accomplish for a free people and society, then build technology capable of delivering it.

That means addressing questions of individual rights, privacy, surveillance, security, accountability, interoperability, accessibility, and trust, not simply choosing a wallet or credential standard.
